Proverbs 1:8–33
1. Introduction
God does not stay silent while people walk toward danger. In Proverbs 1, wisdom is described as calling out loudly, warning people to turn away from foolish and sinful paths. This lesson teaches that ignoring wisdom leads to serious consequences, but listening brings peace and safety.
2. Main Idea
Wisdom continually calls us, but rejecting that call leads to loss and trouble.
3. Explanation of the Passage
• “Do not walk in the way with sinners” (vv. 10–19) – key v.15
Sin often looks attractive and promises quick rewards, but it always leads to harm and loss.
• “Wisdom cries aloud in the streets” (vv. 20–21) – key v.20
Wisdom is available to everyone. God clearly communicates His truth and warnings.
• “They refused my counsel” (vv. 24–28) – key v.24
Ignoring wisdom repeatedly leads to consequences that cannot be avoided.
• “Whoever listens to me will live securely” (v. 33)
Those who obey God’s wisdom experience peace and confidence, even in difficult situations.
